Great day spent in the sun in the garden, but needed a red wine for dinner so chose this from the shelves.

A glorious blend of cherry and redcurrant fruit, but combined with those more earthy, root flavours I associate with a raspberry fruit tea (rather than the fruit itself). A savoury, earthy note that stops this being a “fruity” wine and makes it much more interesting.

The wine is made from Cabernet – but not THAT one, no Sauvignon in sight, this is Cabernet Franc, which is a lighter bodied kind of wine that can even be slightly chilled on a warm evening.
